New Delhi: The CAT 2026 registration deadline has been extended, giving MBA aspirants additional time to complete their applications for the Common Admission Test. The registration deadline, which was originally scheduled for September 15 at 5 PM, has now been extended to September 22, 2026, at 5 PM. Candidates can submit their applications through the official CAT website, iimcat.ac.in.
The extension comes as an important relief for candidates who had not yet completed the registration process. Earlier today, several reports said that registration would close on September 15, but the conducting institute later announced the revised deadline. Candidates should therefore follow the latest official schedule rather than older reports or social media posts.
CAT 2026 Registration Gets One More Week
The Common Admission Test is one of India’s most important management entrance examinations. It is used for admission to postgraduate management programmes at the Indian Institutes of Management and many other business schools.
IIM Indore is conducting CAT 2026, and the online registration process began on August 3, 2026. The original last date was September 15, but the extension now gives applicants one additional week to complete the form and fee payment.
Candidates who have already created a login but have not completed the application should make sure that all required sections are filled and the fee is paid before the revised deadline.

CAT 2026 Exam Date
The CAT 2026 examination is scheduled to take place on November 29, 2026. IIM Indore will conduct the test in three computer-based sessions across approximately 170 test cities in India.
Candidates will be able to select their preferred test cities while completing the application form. According to available exam information, applicants can choose up to five city preferences.
The exam will be conducted in three sections:
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA). Each section has a fixed time limit, requiring candidates to manage their time carefully during the examination.
Who Can Apply for CAT 2026?
CAT is open to eligible graduates and final-year undergraduate students who meet the prescribed academic requirements.
According to the published CAT 2026 eligibility details, candidates generally need a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. The minimum requirement is 45% for candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD categories. Final-year bachelor’s degree students can also apply, subject to the applicable rules.
